Cape Verde climbs FIFA rankings after victories over Mauritius and Cameroon
Cape Verde climbs to 70th place in the FIFA rankings after victories over Mauritius and Cameroon, and strengthens its lead among the PALOP countries.

The Cape Verde national soccer team has moved up three places in the FIFA rankings, updated this Thursday, following victories over Mauritius and Cameroon in rounds 7 and 8 of the World Cup qualifying campaign.
The Blue Sharks now occupy 70th place in the world, with 1363.21 points, making them the 13th best-placed African team.
Among the Portuguese-speaking countries, Cape Verde leads the ranking (70th), followed by Angola (89th), Equatorial Guinea (95th), Mozambique (97th), Guinea-Bissau (130th) and São Tomé and Príncipe (195th).
In the UFOA A region, Cape Verde is the third best-placed team, behind Senegal (18th) and Mali (56th). The next update of the ranking will be published in October.
